My Beautiful Niece!

So my big brother Kevin is now a Daddy!!!
I of course started knitting a baby blanket the moment I heard the wonderful news that they were expecting.
The baby is now here and I just wanted to post a picture of the blanket. My beautiful Cheyenne, I fell head over heels in love with her. I got to meet her when she was just a day old. I am completely smitten and only wish I was still in Arizona to enjoy her some more!:)

Yarn: Lion Pound of Love
Pattern: Pinwheel Blanket from the Knit list
Needles: Boye interchangable size US 9
This was so simple and enjoyable. Perfect mindless knitting. For the border, I increased every stitch, then did about an inch of seed stitch for the ruffle. I see many people have done the same.
I am very happy with this.

Of course I couldn't resist posting an action shot. Told you I am smitten.

Return To The Land Of The Living

Ok so obviously I have been a naughty knit blogger. I have been gone for quite some time and I am back to hopefully change that. Relax Charm, you don't have to keep calling me and asking why I haven't updated anymore.

So, I have knit a few things since I have been gone and I don't know if I can update them all really. But I will try to post about what I can. It hasn't been too much so it shouldn't be a terribly long post. Let's hope.

I may make seperate posts, I am still trying to work it all out in my head as it has been a long day and the good ole brain is threatening to go on strike.

OK. First things, first. Those lovely Baudelaire socks I was working on in the last post... oh say... a mere 8 months ago. I guess it's safe to say that they are finito!

I really love them! They were a lot of fun to knit, I didn't get bored at all.

Yarn: Knitpicks Essential In Ash
Needles: Knitpicks Classic Circs size US 1.5/2.5mm
Pattern: Knitty's Baudelaire by Cookie A

The only thing I would say about my finished pair is that there isn't much give. It fits wonderfully, but personally it's a bit diffucult to get over my heel. All in all, I really love this pattern.
